Supervision & Safety
Treetop Nets is staffed by trained staff at all times, however children remain the responsibility of accompanying adults on the following ratios:
- 3-6yrs 1 participating adult for every 2 children
- 7-11yrs 1 Adult for every 5 children – participation encouraged but optional*
- 12-15yrs An adult must be present to sign an authorisation form and remain within the Brockhole site at all times
*Supervision of children 7-11yrs can take place from the ground and is not charged for, however, the nets are fantastic fun for all ages and we think better enjoyed by the whole family. Supervising adults must attend the safety briefing with children and remain in the Treetop Nets Park at all times.
Q. Who Can Go on Treetop Nets?
Everyone from ages 3+. No experience or skill is required, just so long as you have a moderate level of fitness and an adventurous spirit. There is no need for a harness as the nets are surrounded by high net walls. Children under 7 need to have a supervising adult with them on the nets.
Treetop Nets is all-inclusive so whatever your ability we will try and find a way to make you day as enjoyable as possible. For further details view our Access Statement Windermere, Access Statement Ripon or Access Statement Manchester, alternatively contact the Treetop Trek Team on 015394 47186.
Q. Do I need to book in advance?
To avoid disappointment, we recommend you book well in advance especially during peak times such as school holidays and weekends as we do get book up quickly!
Q. What should I wear?
Prepare for all weather! We suggest wearing comfortable-fitting clothes that you do not mind getting grubby; waterproofs or a change of clothing is recommended during wet weather days. No strappy tops, skirts/dresses without underclothing or bare midriffs. Flapping clothing or scarves will need to be removed or secured in place. Please be advised that niqab and hijab-wearers will need to adjust their headscarves so that nothing is tied or pinned across the throat; sports hijabs or single-loop underscarves are a safer alternative.
For your feet; secure footwear such as trainers or walking boots are ideal; something with a bit of grip. FLAT shoes only and no open-toed shoes, flip flops, Crocs or sandals will be permitted.
Long hair should be tied back, all jewellery is to be removed (rings, watches, earrings etc.) We do not have any secure storage facilities onsite so please be prepared to store valuables safely away in a zip pocket or car - or safer still, left at home! For the colder days, it is strongly advised that you wear gloves whilst participating and we recommend wearing sensible warm/waterproof clothing and a hat.
Treetop Nets reserves the right to refuse admittance should the appropriate clothing not be worn. Please do contact us with any concerns or queries.
Q. What time should I arrive?
We suggest arriving up to 15 minutes before your booked session. Please ensure during this time you have time to visit the toilet and are ready to take part in the adventure. Parking charges apply at Manchester and Windermere, please check signage on arrival.
Q. What happens in bad weather?
We are generally open whatever the weather unless we are experiencing gales, unusually high winds, lightning, heavy ice or snow. Being prepared for all types of weather will lessen the chance of it dampening your day. The great news is, the big trees act as a good shelter and the slides are even faster in rain!
Q. Can I bring my dog?
We love dogs due to both safety and hygiene protocol, we have a zero-tolerance policy on any dogs except for Assistance Dogs - they are not allowed in the grounds at Treetop Nets at any of our sites as we have a lot of children visiting and not all children are comfortable around dogs.
If you are planning on visiting us during warmer weather, please DO NOT leave your dog in your vehicle unattended. Any cases of animals remaining locked in a vehicle, will be dealt with by both the RSPCA and the Police.
RIPON - If you are stuck with what to do with your dog, the park can recommend a reliable kennel service in the village of Sutton Grange approximately 2.5 miles north east of Ripon. Prices start at around £10 a day for a basic kennel package.
Q. Can children go on Treetop Nets alone?
Yes, if they are 7 years or over, but you must remain on site and visible at all times.
Q. Is it safe?
Absolutely Yes! If you follow our safety instructions, you are sure to have a great time. Before you set off, you will receive a safety brief to prepare you for your adventure in the trees. We recommend long sleeved tops to avoid friction burns which can sometimes occur and you must use a sack to use the slides.
We understand plans change and you might need to cancel your booking, therefore, you are entitled to cancel your booking up to one week before your visit. In doing so you will receive a refund as per our booking Terms and conditions. In the event that we need to cancel your booking, we will use reasonable measures to notify you as soon as possible and fully refund you. In the event that we might need to close the course for reasons out of our control during your visit, you are entitled to a refund - in part or in whole.
